Thompson Park Weed Pulling Adventure!!

We hope you are having a great summer!!! Friends of Thompson Park has gained support for trail maintenance and weed removal through a variety of sources this summer. Thank you all for your generosity in helping with this and other efforts to maintain Thompson Park for all to enjoy!!! They are having a weed pulling adventure on Saturday, 7/8/23 from 9am - 12noon. They have contracted for weed spraying, but unfortunately it does not include the railroad bed, so they are hoping for some volunteers to help with hand pulling the knapweed in that area. They will have group leaders to assist volunteers. It is a straightforward process. The knapweed needs to be pulled from its roots and the plants placed in large garbage bags. They can provide gloves and bags for the knapweed. Please contact Jocelyn Dodge, or Janet Axelson if you are able to assist with these efforts. And if you are able to help, please be sure to log your Volunteer hours on the website as trail maintenance efforts count toward grants and funding for other future projects! Cheers all!
